Morgan County Observatory
OBSERVATORY RENOVATION
Oct 19, 2025 Update
We reached our goal for the telescope replacement!!! We plan to be back in operation with the big scope in late November - stay tuned!!
Donations are gratefully received so we can continue to develop the facility and rent planetarium movies. Your donation is greatly appreciated!!
The removal of the old telescope is now complete! Huge sigh of relief!! We have a concrete pad ready to receive the old telescope which will be mounted outside as a sculpture. We have to complete construction in the classroom on the new stairs. Do some electrical and construction work in the dome for the new telescope. The end is in sight!
The new pier has arrived and works beautifully!.
First light for new telescope is being planned for November. Stay tuned!!
